K-Hub Stakeholders’ workshop focusing on “The Gaps and Challenges of Urban Sanitation in Bangladesh”
On April 12, 2014 a consultation workshop was organized with the stakeholders’ of South Asia Knowledge Hub (K-Hub) at ITN-BUET to discuss the challenges and gaps in the urban sanitation sector with respect to technology, policy and institutional management, and financial/ investment aspects. Mr. Kazi Abdul Noor, Joint Secretary and the Project Director of the Policy Support Unit of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives attended the workshop, among others. Prof. Dr. Md. MujiburRahman, Team Leader of the K-Hub (Bangladesh) project moderated the workshop. The workshop divided key sector personnel from different Govt. and Non-Govt.
Organizations into three different groups. The specific aim of the group works were to identify key challenges and gaps in the urban sanitation sector in terms of technology, policy, institutional management, finance, and investment. The participants were requested to perceive the role of ITN-BUET in addressing these identified challenges. The involvement in the group discussion was vibrant and participants provided valuable insights pertaining to the topic of the workshop.
