Urban India is being transformed with an aim to achieve good quality of life. We are passing through an exciting time when both political and economic initiatives are converging to re-imagine the Indian city. How well prepared are we at ground level in our cities? Can the ULBs negotiate these new initiatives to convert them to public good for their citizens? The talk will lead the audience through the overarching elements of various urban sector missions and the expected aggregate spatial and social possibilities. It will provide a synoptic view of the new place making strategies in India.
